The artwork in Other Places, Other Scenes is influenced by Robert Steinem's travels through, and years spent living in, the Southeastern U.S. With it's title inspired by Truman Capote's richly descriptive novel Other Voices, Other Rooms, this series expresses a distinctly regional sense of place. Here the interplay of light and nature, water and sky is infused with the warm palette of the Southern latitudes. Subject matter spans the topography of this area, from the rolling hills of North Florida to the Lowcountry, with scenes of blackwater swamps, rivers and coastlines. Please contact the artist for details about these pieces, and availability of work.
* Limited edition giclees prints are also available for many of the paintings.
